Maintaining Clean Water in Kenmore Elite Refrigerators

The Kenmore Elite 9980 refrigerator water filter purifies drinking water and ice directly through your appliance water lines. It installs inside select Kenmore Elite bottom-freezer and French door models, mounting inside the designated filter housing. The internal carbon block traps sediment, rust, and particulates while reducing chlorine taste, odor, and dissolved contaminants before water fills your glass. When your dispenser flow slows to a trickle or ice begins smelling stale, swapping out an exhausted cartridge restores clean water pressure and neutral flavor.

Cataloged under part number 46-9980 refrigerator water filter and interchangeable with ADQ74793502, this cartridge uses a twist-and-lock fitting for quick installation without tools. To ensure proper filtration, install a fresh Kenmore 9980 water filter every 6 months or after filtering 200 gallons of water. If your household operates multiple units or needs different cartridge sizes, explore our complete selection of Kenmore refrigerator water filters to match your exact setup.
